More heavily armoured than its predecessors, with upgraded armament and mechanically improvements, the MARK IV was to be the British tank produced in largest number (1220) during the Great War.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p4\"\u003eThe MARK IV first saw action on \u003cstrong\u003e7 June 1917\u003c\/strong\u003e (Messines Ridge) and remained in service until the end of the war.
