The Russian Army during the Napoleonic Wars was a powerful and adaptable force, characterized by its immense size and strategic depth. Despite facing significant logistical challenges and a lack of modern weaponry, the Russian army proved to be a formidable adversary to Napoleon's forces. Under the leadership of commanders like Alexander I and Mikhail Kutuzov, the Russian army employed a strategy of scorched earth, forcing Napoleon's troops to endure harsh conditions and depleting their supplies. The Russian army's victory in the Battle of Borodino and its subsequent retreat into the depths of Russia ultimately played a crucial role in the defeat of Napoleon's invasion.
