Collection: Seven Years War
The Seven Years' War (1756-1763) was a global conflict that had its roots in a series of competing European colonial ambitions and rivalries. The war was fought on multiple continents although the main cause of the conflict in Europe happened because in 1756, Frederick preemptively invaded Saxony, an ally of Austria, triggering the Seven Years' War.
The conflict quickly escalated into a global war, with battles fought in Europe, North America, India, Africa, and the Caribbean. The war ended in 1763 with the signing of the Treaty of Paris, which marked a significant shift in the balance of power in Europe and the world.
