Morocco, 1880s
The French Foreign Legion and the colourful French Colonial Army of Africa with their Arab opponents have a romantic appeal largely due to books and movies which have kept the interest in the period alive.
I have split the bundles into two, largely for those who want the Arabs, but not the colonialists. That’s why I have repeated the commanders and characters sheet in the Arab bundle.
The new terrain items, A French fort, an Arab village and date palm ‘crosstrees’ and a pool for an Oasis are in preparation, but I thought I would release the figures first so that you can get started!
There are tents, animals, and a ‘desert’ house already in the terrain section.
The Cigar box mat ‘Rattlesnake Ranch’ makes a good Moroccan desert, as well as an American one if you were thinking of getting a commercial mat. Base paper to match that mat is available to download free in the terrain section.
Arab Tribesmen bundle (4.5 Mb)

- Arab Cavalry
- Camel-mounted Touareg
- Touareg Cavalry
- Arab Tribesmen on foot

Once downloaded, the sheets can be printed as often as you like, which means you can build up large armies very cheaply. You will need scissors, a craft knife, glue, appropriate paper and some stiffer card for bases, all of which are described in the how-to section.
The figures are laid out on A4 format, which will print onto US legal sized paper, or will fit US letter size printed at 93%. You can, of course, print the figures in any scale you choose, making them uniquely flexible in this respect.
There are 6 sheets in total. Once purchased and downloaded the sheets can be printed individually.
Paper Armies Proper Armies!
