The Desert Transport

In the unforgiving Sands of the Sudan, an army is only as fast—and as alive—as its supply train. While the infantry squares take the glory, it was the humble beast of burden that determined the fate of empires. To bring the true logistical challenge of the 1881–1885 Campaigns to your tabletop, we are releasing the Desert Transport bundle!

These are the same camels and mules as the foreign legion desert transport bundle but with more Sudanese-looking figures and new seated camels.

The Desert Transport Bundle (3.6 MB) Contains:

  1. Camels at Rest: A full sheet of dromedaries crouched and sitting—perfect for creating a realistic encampment or a desperate, improvised breastwork during a night-time zareba defense.

  2. The Moving Column: A sheet of camels laden with baggage, captured in mid-stride as they haul the water and ammunition your troops can't live without.

  3. The Mules of the Empire: A dedicated sheet of mules and baggage, representing the gritty diversity of the transport lines.

Notes

Once downloaded, the sheets can be printed as often as you like, which means you can build up Large Desert Transport Groups very cheaply.

You will need scissors, a craft knife, glue, appropriate paper and some stiffer card for bases, all of which are described in the how-to section.

The figures are laid out in A4 format, which will print onto US legal sized paper, or will fit US letter size printed at 93%.

You can, of course, print the figures in any scale you choose, making them uniquely flexible in this respect.

You will need to make a stiff Card Base for each stand. Dimensions of the stand is up to you and your preferred rule system.
