By 1944 the 5 cm KwK 39 L60 was commonly employed in fortifications from Normandy to Norway. There were several different types of defence from simple open emplacements to covered casemates. Some had underground storage for ammunitions and troop quarters. The “ringstand” design had an octagonal concrete protection. It could have one or more entrances and was commonly connected to trenches.
This model represents the gun and its emplacement on the east bank of the Caen Canal, just south of Pegasus bridge.
The Bundle will allow you to have on your table the gun, its crew and pit in 28mm scale. The figures are laid down in A4 format, which will print onto US legal sized paper, or will fit US size printed at 29%.
The bundle consists of 4 sheets for the model and 7 sheets for the instructions, plus three extra sheet of ground cover for the gun pit to allow you to chouse the one that best suits your mat.
Notes
To build the gun, its crew and the pit you will need to print 4 single face A4 sheets. The gun will traverse but not elevate.
Once downloaded, the sheets can be printed as often as you like, which means you can build any number of Gun Emplacement very cheaply.
You will need scissors, a craft knife, glue, appropriate paper and some stiffer card for bases, all of which are described in the how-to section.
The figures are laid out in A4 format, which will print onto US legal sized paper, or will fit US letter size printed at 93%.
You can, of course, print the figures in any scale you choose, making them uniquely flexible in this respect.
