Welcome to the front lines, the "Materialschlacht" has arrived on your tabletop. To launch our Trench Fever series, we are starting exactly where the soldier’s world began and ended: the ground beneath his feet.

This base terrain system captures the harrowing reality of the Western Front, where the earth was no longer soil, but a churned, tortured soup of mud and metal. Every inch of this sheet is designed to evoke the oppressive atmosphere of the "Storm of Steel":

The Trench Fever Terrain Bundle is a massive, modular toolkit designed to let you reconstruct the labyrinthine complexity of a 1914–1918 battlefield from the ground up. Whether you are building a pristine frontline sector or a shell-shattered ruin, this bundle provides every layer of the nightmare.

This bundle is a comprehensive "Builder’s Kit" that takes you from the base earth to the final strand of barbed wire. It includes:

The Foundations (The "Skin" of the Front):

  • Base Papers: Three distinct environments including Scarred Earth, Rough Grass, and three variations of Shell Craters. Literally a Sea of MUD!

  • The Scars of War: Fallen-In Trenches, splintered wood, and the debris of a "Dead" No Man's Land.

  • The Wire: Essential Barbed Wire sheets to create those impassable death traps.

The Trench Modules (Base, Surface, & Revetments): Each section is designed with a "layered" approach for maximum 3D depth, including the internal wooden supports (revetments) that kept the mud at bay.

  • Trench Bays: The standard firing lines.

  • Salients (Left & Right): For those dangerous outward-pushing angles in the line.

  • Advanced Posts: For your forward observers and daring listening posts.

  • Communication Trenches: The vital arteries that connected the front line to the rear.

  • Trench Ruins: Walls, ruins, and collapsed sections for a sector that has seen heavy shelling.

The Tactical Extras:

  • Hardpoints: Reinforced Bunkers and bridges for crossing the mire.

  • Builder Supplies: Scratch-building assets and "How-To" instructions to help you customise your layout.

Notes

Once downloaded, the sheets can be printed as often as you like, which means you can build up Infinite Trench Sections very cheaply.

You will need scissors, a craft knife, glue, appropriate paper and some stiffer card for bases, all of which are described in the how-to section.

The figures are laid out in A4 format, which will print onto US legal sized paper, or will fit US letter size printed at 93%.

You can, of course, print the figures in any scale you choose, making them uniquely flexible in this respect.

You will need to make a stiff Card Base for each stand. Dimensions of the stand is up to you and your preferred rule system.
