The Allies Strike Back

By the time Japanese carrier planes attacked Pearl Harbor in 1942 bringing the USA into the war, the fearsome Imperial Japanese Army had already swept into much of the far eastern part of the British Empire and occupied many Pacific Islands.

The ‘Banzai’ figures represent some of the troops of both sides in the Allied fight-back. The Japanese themselves, US marines and their landing craft and troops of the Anglo-Indian 14 th army, the ‘Forgotten Army’.

My view of the latter is inevitably Anglo-centric. Many of my childhood friends had fathers who still suffered from malaria and my father –in –law had many tales of his long war as a Bren-gunner in Burma. Indian troops are of course represented. I chose Sikhs for their splendid turbans.

They are dressed in the early khaki uniforms then being replaced by Jungle green.
Other Indian units would look very much the same as the British. 85% of the 14 th Army was made up of troops recruited in British India.

Notes

The Anti Tank Gun in the Normandy Bundle
In the Extra Weapons Sheet we have provided crews for the Anti Tank Gun which is NOT included in this bundle, but you have to download it separately here.

Once downloaded, the sheets can be printed as often as you like, which means you can build up WW2 Pacific Scenario Armies very cheaply.

You will need scissors, a craft knife, glue, appropriate paper and some stiffer card for bases, all of which are described in the how-to section.

The figures are laid out in A4 format, which will print onto US legal sized paper, or will fit US letter size printed at 93%.

You can, of course, print the figures in any scale you choose, making them uniquely flexible in this respect. You will need to make a stiff Card Base for each stand. Dimensions of the stand is up to you and your preferred rule system.

Our Motto is Paper Armies, Proper Armies!
