The spiralling cost of metal figures pointed me towards plastic but the sheer convenience and cost of Paperboys and the look of the ranked paper figures made Paperboys a go to. Pre painted, mass appeal and the fact that once on a table and playing a game, the fact they are paper disappears. They are no different to playing in any other medium. To me, Paperboys are the biggest innovation in wargaming since multipose plastics.
